Game is stuck in Steam approval hell currently. Once that's through the itch release will probably come right after.
When the game releases then it should come out for free here not to long after. The release date has been pushed back indefinitely though

Its not their choice, unless they sell it directly on itch or something, as Steam itself blocks such games from being bought in germany due to the german government wanting to protect underage germans.
